great for everyday use Sep 06, 2010
bought this to keep small dogs out of the living room. this gate is nice becuase it expands larger than some of the other gates, and also short enough to climb over. highly recommend it.

Soft gate perfect for larger openings Aug 21, 2010
Others have complained that the Evenflo gate is hard to install. It does require attention to reading directions more than once, but after a few times setting it up and taking it down, it's fairly simple. I like that it has nothing to nail, screw in, or otherwise mar the surface of the opening. I like that it's over the standard width. The child (or in our case, dog) can see through the soft mesh netting. It folds up (a bit awkwardly at first) for easy storage. This is ideal for people who will not be using the gate all the time but want something that can be moved easily and set up fairly quickly (someone like grandparents who don't need it all the time). I definitely think it's a great bargain in comparison to the others available online.

We actually bought this gate to keep our puppies out of the den. It was so easy to install, and has a much nicer look than the metal gates. The puppies can still be curious while not having access to the den and it's workin great for all of us.

The Evenflo Crosstown Travel Gate is a great pet barrier! For the price, you can't beat this barrier for stretching across wider than usual spaces (up to 60 inches).

The set up is easy and can be configured without tools or other hardware.

This is a great alternative to those more expensive and permanently mounted systems.

This is superb if your dogs simply respect barriers and won't jump.

We bought this after first purchasing a gate that was more than twice the price of this gate. The other gate had a door, but in order to install it so it was secure in the door way the door would not open. So we decided to return it and get this gate instead since it was much less expensive. I have been very pleased. It fits our 48 inch opening and was super easy to install.
