5Satisfied  Apr 08, 2009 By MM
When I received this product, I read the manual carefully and watched the dvd.
First you have to turn the unit on then release the safety latch for it to calibrate the sensor. This clipper works just fine on my dogs nail. I think the key is placing dog's nail close to the sensor and have sencer detected blood in the quick first. If you don't place dog's nail close enough to the sensor, it misread sometimes. So try to put the nail close to sensor part before giving up on the clipper!

1Deluxe means costs more, not works better  Dec 14, 2008 By Wayne Settle
The Quick Finder has received some bad reviews on the models for small and medium dogs. I was hoping the "deluxe" version would be a better tool; no such luck. The clipper cuts the nail on large dogs just fine, but good luck in trying to interpret the flashing lights. I tried on several different occasions to cut my dog's nails but was unsuccessful in reading the lights. Sometimes the light would turn green at the base of the nail (definitely quick here); other times the light would stay red until the nail was completely out of the clipper. I really put a lot of effort in trying to make this work, but could not.

1Does not work as advertised  Feb 14, 2009 By Hyalite "Dean"
When I first came across this product I was excited about it. However, after watching the DVD that came with it & reading the instruction book very carefully I found it was one of those things that was too good to be true. My dog is very complacent so I had no trouble holding her properly. But the cutter was telling me to cut were it was obviously not safe to do so on some nails, then, randomly it seemed, would indicate not to cut anywhere on nails that were safe to cut. After many repeated attempts on the same nail I would get entirely different light combinations. The technology obviously needs work. Do not buy this product.

1A Deluxe Mistake!  Jun 26, 2009 By D. Allen
I have a German Shepherd and as we were being consistently let down by the dog washer, decided we would wash him ourselves. That's fine but I was nervous about having to clip his claws myself. I thought the Deluxe QuickFinder was the ideal product. Like the other less positive reviewers, I spent time reading the instructions, watching the DVD and persevering with every each way of trying to get the product to work. I don't consider myself an impractical person or a slow learner but I just could not get this to work. Again, like the others, I found I would often get a green light in obviously bad places and a red light right up until after I had slipped off the nail. Incredibly frustrating for both me and the dog and a waste of money unless you want to just remove the batteries and use them as a guesswork clipper. I would sincerely suggest you consider something else.
