Dreaded this gate... but pleasantly surprised! Nov 24, 2007
By fiatslug! So we have a wonky bottom-of-the-stairs area that needed a gate under 25" high, and this gate was pretty much it. It looks so junky, and it would be in a high-traffic area, where we'd have to remove it and re-install it several times a day... ugh. But we've been pleasantly surprised at how well it works! I can remove it one-handed with my 25-lb toddler in the other arm, and re-install it just as easily. She pulls on it with all her might and can't dislodge it. The price is right, too. It's ugly, to be sure, but does the job much better than I'd hoped for.

Efficient but not pretty...... Aug 26, 2007
By Michelle Chenoweth This gate is easy to use, and has worked well, it is just not that pretty to look at. If you don't care how it looks, then you can't beat the price and your child will still be safe, which is what is most important.

You get what you pay for Aug 25, 2007
By Jeff Sullivan This gate is inexpensive, which is great, but it is difficult to use unless you enjoy jumping over it a lot. The "memory" feature that is supposed to make it easy to release and replace once you've got it set up doesn't work at all. The process of tightening the gate back down removes the bar that is supposed to keep its "memory."
In addition, it is very difficult to get a snug fit in any doorway, since you can't use the level to spread it out, you've got to push with your hands and risk mashing your knuckles, which I did a number of times. Eventually, I just gave up and now I essentially lean it against the door frame. This works well enough, but I wouldn't recommend this gate to anyone.

Not for areas where you have baseboards Aug 29, 2010
By Christine Uhry If you have baseboards where you want to mount this gate, don't get it. For that matter don't get any gate where you cant adjust the pressure mounts if putting it somewhere where you have a baseboard which sticks out thicker than the wall, you need adjustable pressure mounts or it won't work. If you are mounting in a door frame or somewhere where the walls are flush it should work just fine for the price.

Dog Gate May 21, 2008
By Jimmie D. Burnett The reason I purchased this was because I am keeping my cousins 2 dogs while he looks for a place to live that he can keep them. He is going through a divorce. I needed something to separate them from my 4 cats. The dogs Hate cats and are very jealous of them. The gate has worked great. The dogs bump their heads against it, push against it but it stays put. If it can keep them under control, a baby would be nothing.
