Great product Aug 26, 2010
I have a very big dog with thick, husky type hair. This product cut through it like butter! Her undercoat is very dense and this product was fabulous! She was cool all summer this year. Worth the cost, since it paid for itself in one use when you compare the cost of taking your dog to the groomer. Previous smaller shavers would not work on my dog.

Two Dogs and easy clipping Aug 20, 2010
After doing a bunch of research I selected these clippers and they work great on our two Yorke mutts. We used a cheep model that we borrowed from a friend and that experience made use want to just take the back to the groomers. I recommend these two any one pro or home use.

Oster Clippers Surpass the Rest Aug 19, 2010
This is my second set of oster clippers. (my ex took the first set).
I have a Schnauzer which has a combination of fine and course hair. I have tried many brands of clippers and find the Oster A5 to be the best. Other clippers took forever to cut my dogs hair and I finally gave up until I found the Oster A5. They were recomended to me by a schnauzer breeder. They may cost a little more than other clippers but in my experience they are superior in every way and outlast all the others I have tried.

I have shopped around for a good set of clippers and was advised to get Oster 78005-140 Golden A5 2-Speed Clipper by my friend who is also a groomer. I have two cocker spaniels with lots of hair and a thick undercoat. Thus far, the clippers are doing a great job, however, I do have to watch the heat as it tends to get hot pretty fast. I am very pleased with my purchase and would definitely buy them again,

Our extremely fine long haired grey cat is high maintenance and is no longer accepted at the groomers due to hissing and howling. She has not bitten me or them but they chose to chicken out. Anyway, we had to take things into our own hands. We were told buy a professional high quality clipper 2 speed and use a #10 blade. After the first five minutes the clipper became too warm to touch running on high and low. Gracie the cat was having so much fun telling us how much she enjoyed being man handled and receiving a hair cut. See, Gracie gets matted hair which will not comb out because she does not like to held or catered to; feed me then leave me alone but pet me only when I want to be petted, do not even consider to comb me, oh and you may hand me treats anytime, is her attitude. Back to the clippers, I requested assistance from the manufacturer and they were very understanding and kind to send some cooling spray which helped a little; the blades now get too warm after low speed only after about 9 minutes. Oster told me the clippers were to only operate at high speed intermittently only; that info was not in the literature. Therefore, I can not give the clippers a high rating and plan to return the clippers for warranty overhaul. Maybe I received one of those Monday or Friday clippers.
