good blade for 1/2 inch coat. Feb 10, 2010 By M. Beason
These are good blades. They fit right on the Oster A5 golden clipper I bought (securely). The one that came with it, I think it's a 10 shaves the dog down to the skin. This one leaves about a 1/2 inch coat. I use the 3F to cut him all over than I use the 10 on his belly and anywhere else I want him cut close.......his feet, snout, ears, etc. These blades stay cool to the touch. The clippers have to get very hot for these to even start getting warm. He is a maltese mix and has very fine and tangly hair and this blade and all the cryon blades just glide right through his coat.

I bought this to use with a recently purchased set of Oster pet clippers. The blade works perfectly for my fleece-coat labradoodle! It trims him down to slightly longer than labrador-length hair, which is great for the summer. I've found that using a blade only is MUCH easier than a blade/comb combo.

This 3F blade was described as leaving 1/2" of hair. I have what was supposed to be a poodle mix but turned out to be a Bichon and this blade leaves the right amount of hair for either. It is easy to change and use as long as you stop to brush out any accumulated hair and oil it. I do that about every 5 minutes to be safe. One note. The Oster Clipper directions are inadequate at best so call the 800# to find out what is where.

These are definitely a good blade for cutting animal fur. The only issue I have with them is that they need to be oiled frequently to keep cutting as sharply as they do the first time. Good length for small dogs in the summer heat. My pup is a small bred, maltese mix with thick curly hair and these breeze right thru it!

These CryogenX blades are awesome. They are sharp enough that they go smoothly through my dogs fur yet don't heat up. She is a medium-ish (20 lb) size and I was able to clip her straight through nonstop using the 3F on her body and then switching to the 10 for her legs and belly.
