a great idea down the drain Jan 21, 2006
By MadHatter Alright i bought this because i needed to groom my dog who has insanely long hair, i dont have the time to always bring her to the grooming solon every month with the bill that racks up to around 80 and up. I found this nice kit and thought wow, it even comes with a dvd to teach me how to groom the dog.
Let me tell you what a total dissappointment this product was. Lets start off with the dvd, it was scratched or corrupted when i got it, so I had to spend the time to call up the place and ask them for a replacement. When i finally got it and watched it, totally lame dvd. The dogs that she grooms are professionally trained dogs. she doesn't really teach you how to stop the animal from moving around so much when you are cutting its hair. So when i tried it, the dog was all over the place and it was quite difficult to even trim just a few inches off.
Second off the pieces that it comes with, gets the hair all jamed in it, practically useless to cutting the dogs hair. I just trim her hair with the pieces off with just the cutter itself which worked way better then all the things you had to attatch to it.
Third, the electronic trimmer overheats way too fast. not even 2 mins into the triming and the thing burns my hand like a warm/hot pan. Only thing saving me from actually burning myself was the rubber on the outside. Its pretty annoying to put the thing down and then wait for it to cool down and then start trimming again.
in total, i would have just bought the electronic trimmer without all the other pieces, waste of money. I have an old one that is way cheaper that works better then this one. and the older one I have is to do buzz cuts.
not too happy with this product at all.

Waste of money! Mar 01, 2007
By K. Churchill

My husband and I bought the 12-Piece kit which has the same clipper unit (it doesn't have the scissors or brush.) We've been having trouble with them since DAY ONE. They're constantly getting clogged with fur in the weirdest places. I had to use tweezers to clean the fur out of one spot. The blades are so finiky that almost everything causes them to seize up. If you tighten the screws enough to keep the blades on, the blade doesn't move. If you leave the screw even slightly looser so the blade can move, the vibrations throw the screws out in a matter of seconds. Also- it over heats before you can get a dog clipped! It's like holding a toaser. Don't bother with these things.

Do not buy! Waste of money! Feb 10, 2010
By M. cunningham You can not buy replacement blades for this clipper! You can not buy other sizes either. You can only send it in to be sharpened so one blade is all you get ever. You are better off buying a better clipper that you can change the blades out on. Huge disapointment!!

Clippers don't cut it! Jun 27, 2009
By anonymous Although we have used similar clippers in a similar price range in the past quite successfully, these clippers don't do the job. No matter what the setting they don't cut adequately.
