Best For Cutting Cat Nails Jul 26, 2010
It was a delight to have this product. It took me just 3 minutes to finish cutting all the nails of my Siamese cat. It has got a very useful safety stop to avoid cutting the nail too deep or hurt your pet. Recommended to every one.Safari Professional Pet Nail Trimmer, Small/Medium

Great for a Chow-Newfoundland Mix Dog Jul 22, 2010
These size large nail cutters are very easy to use and very sharp. I got the large size to use on my 2 year old 67 pound chow-Newfoundland mix. I also have arthritis in my hands. He has huge paws and very thick nails. The vet has hit his quicks twice now and he is terrified of the vet so decided to learn how to do it myself as he trusts me. I let him check out the cutter by touching his paws with it, then his nails and then pinching his nails with my fingers while I held the cutter next to it and then finally did an actual trim job. I have trimmed his nails twice now with no problem. I bought Kwik stop just in case, but have not needed to use it. The packaging says the cutters have a safety "stop," and it does, but I prefer to not use that as I think it would take off too much at one time AND it prevents me from getting a nice 45 degree angle, esp. on his dew claws that are next to his leg so more difficult to trim. His nails are black so I just trim of a tiny bit at a time.

I bought these dog nail trimmers after the ones I had purchased at PetCo (or PetSmart) wouldn't work for me. I am left handed so I guess that may be why the ones from the pet store didn't work. These nail trimmers however, I am able to use just fine. So, if you are also left-handed, they should work for you (my husband is right handed and they work fine for him as well).

I've tried MANY different styles and brands of nail trimmers for my dog and cats. These are the first ones that cut cleanly and smoothly. I can now get my fidgety dog done in under a minute!

It clips very well and easy. I have a terrier so his nails are not very thick to begin with. However, the safety feature is a waste. It's too far off (so I'd cut into the quick if I were to rely on it) and it gets in the way of my seeing what I'm doing.
For me with a small dog, this is an ok buy that does the job, but I would prefer a more heavy/solid clipper for my own comfort. I was surprised at how small and light this was (for something labeled "professional" grade).
